The 67th Anniversary of the Christianborg crossroad shooting incident has been commemorated by Ghanaians at the Nationalism Park in Osu on the 28 February, 2015.
The occasion which is observed every year in remembrance of the Ex-servicemen who were shot by the colonial police whilst marching peacefully to the Osu Castle to present petition to the then Governor of the Gold Coast in 1948, Sir Gerald Creasy over their frustrated financial and social difficulties, the Ex-servicemen were naturally not happy with the gratuity.
The CDS lays a wreath on behalf of the GAF and other Security Services.
Ex-WOI Owusu Lawrence conducted a roll call on behalf of the veterans Administration, Ghana followed by the Flag-raising ceremony after which a minute silence was observed to remember the Ex-servicemen.
Five wreaths were laid for the departed souls. The first wreath was laid by HE the Vice President Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur on behalf of the Government and the people of Ghana.

The second wreath was laid by the Chief of the Defense Staff (CDS), Vice Admiral Mathew Quashie on behalf of the Ghana Armed Forces and the other security services followed by the National VAG Chairman, Cdr Steve Obimpeh (rtd), on behalf of the Veterans Administration, Ghana. The Osu Mantse, Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI laid a wreath on behalf of the Traditional Authorities and a representative of Cpl Attipoe’s family laid the last wreath on behalf of the fallen soldiers.
